Harvard Law Speaks: Disability Rights Lawyers Harnessing Technology

The greatest lawyers embrace the role of community educators whose effectiveness is bolstered by the potential for litigation. For example, blind students who once had limited access to books can now potentially access thousands of books through digital bookstores and libraries that have been made accessible. Many schools are unaware of the need for accessibility, though. Working towards a future with greater access for students with disabilities, lawyers hold a crucial role in getting schools to provide instructional materials that are accessible to all students.
